چکیده

fore be effective, by decreasing vascular permeability. The spontaneous resolution of choroidal ischemia has been reported previously [5], but in our case, because the patient showed no signs of any functional or anatomic improvement after observation for a week, we decided to treat the patient with IVB, which led to prompt visual and anatomical recovery. This is the first case report of the occurrence of choroidal ischemia following brain tumor surgery and complete recovery of BCVA after IVB. In patients with severe visual loss and SRD associated with choroidal ischemia, IVB may be a viable treatment option.

Laser Peripheral Iridotomy with Iridoplasty in Primary Angle Closure Suspect: Anterior Chamber Analysis by Pentacam

PURPOSE To compare conventional laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI) and LPI combined with laser peripheral iridoplasty in eyes with primary angle closure suspect (PACS) by assessment of anterior chamber dimensional changes using a Pentacam. METHODS Forty-eight eyes of 24 subjects with bilateral PACS were recruited consecutively. Each eye was randomly allocated to treatment with conventional LPI,...

Angle-closure glaucoma: the role of the lens in the pathogenesis, prevention, and treatment.

Primary angle-closure glaucoma is a major cause of blindness worldwide. It is a disease of ocular anatomy that is related to pupillary-block and angle-crowding mechanisms of filtration angle closure. Eyes at increased risk for primary angle-closure are small with decreased axial length, anterior chamber depth, and filtration angle width, associated with a proportionately large lens. Angle-closu...

Argon laser peripheral iridoplasty for plateau iris associated with iridociliary cysts: a case report

INTRODUCTION Plateau iris is recognised as an important cause of primary angle closure glaucoma. The management of this condition generally comprises laser peripheral iridotomy and iridoplasty, to remove any component of relative pupillary block and to widen the iridotrabecular drainage angle respectively. However, plateau iris may be associated with multiple iris cysts at the iridociliary junc...

Recurrent acute angle-closure attack due to plateau iris syndrome after cataract extraction with or without argon laser peripheral iridoplasty: a case report

BACKGROUND We describe two cases of recurrent acute angle-closure attack in patients with plateau iris syndrome after cataract extraction. Argon laser peripheral iridoplasty and cataract extraction have been used to reduce the occurrence of acute angle-closure attack in plateau iris syndrome although the risk cannot be completely eliminated. There is no consensus on the long term management of ...

Medium-term Anatomical Results of Laser Peripheral Iridoplasty: An Anterior Segment Optical Coherence Tomography Study

Aim To evaluate by anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) the medium-term (mean duration 3.2 years) anatomical changes in the anterior chamber angle (ACA) after laser peripheral iridoplasty. Materials and methods This is a longitudinal, retrospective case series of 31 eyes of 31 patients with primary angle-closure suspicion, primary angle closure (PAC), or primary angle-closur...
